여기 질문에 대한 제 견해부터 말씀드리면 CPU 정보를 보는 프로그램에서 MP로 인식이되는가 안되는가에 너무 신경을 쓰시는 분들이 많은데 다소 부질없는 것이라 생각합니다. 자동차의 엠블럼을 생각해봅시다. 엠블럼은 자동차의 모든 것을 나타내는 이면에 그 엠블럼만 살짝 바꾸면 모든 사람들은 그 차를 더욱 좋은 차로 믿게 됩니다.
예전에 어떤 분께서 AMD의 주주임을 밝히면서 MP와 XP는 같으며 단지 AMD의 전략적인 마케팅의 결과라고 알려주셔서 저도 AMD에 크게 기만당한 거 같아 많이 화가 났었는데요. 확인을 위해서 AMD에 문의메일을 보냈구요 그때 AMD로부터 온 답변을 일단 여기에 게재할게요.

상당히 문어적인 답변이긴 하지만 제프(Jeff)라는 AMD의 분석가가 거짓말을 하지 않은 이상 XP와 MP가 같다는 말은 신빙성이 없는 것 같습니다.
