SSD TRIM command support and Adaptec RAID controllers

Do Adaptec RAID controllers support the TRIM command when SSD drives are attached?
This information applies to the following Operating System(s):
- Windows 7
- Windows 8
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Linux
Most Adaptec RAID controllers do not present physical devices (i.e. drives) to the operating system, only logical devices (i.e. RAID arrays, simple volumes, or JBODs). The TRIM command requires direct access to the physical SSD device, and this is not possible when connected to an Adaptec RAID controller in RAID mode.
The Adaptec Series 7 and 8 RAID controllers are an exception because they support the exposure of uninitialized SSDs or SSDs without Adaptec metadata as Pass Through (or Raw) drives to the operating system. This functionality is available with Series 7 and 8 only. Raw drives are typically used with the controller in HBA mode.
