시도니안녕하십니까? 미국 비자가 잘못나와 멘붕에 빠진 시도니 입니다.
해외 출장 스케쥴이 있었는 데,
난데 없이 고객이 H1b 비자를 요구합니다. 저는 원래 미국을 별로 좋아하지 않는 데.... 툴툴...~
어찌됐든, H1b 비자라는 데 뭔지 봤더니,,, 취업비자? 응??
더 자세히 뒤져보니, H1b 는 취업비자인데,....
B1 비자에서 단기 속성으로 H1b 의 할 수 있도록 B1 in lieu of H1b 비자라는 게 있다고 하네요?
이게 뭔지 한번도 안받아봤고, 신청도 제대로 한것 같은데 B1/B2 비자로 나와서 완전 멘붕에 빠졌습니다.
이럴줄 알았으면, ESTAR 로 갔지.... ㅡ,.ㅡ;; 여튼 지금 B1 in lieu of H1b 를 무조건 받아야 하는 상황인 것 같은데,
B1 in lieu of H1b 비자가 무엇이고, 제가 이 비자를 받으려면 어떻게 해야 합니까?
체류에 의한 출장서와 계약서는 모두 첨부했거든요.

B1 in lieu of H1B Visa Documentation Requirements
The B-1 in lieu of H-1B visa can usually be obtained within a few weeks, and requires considerably more supporting documentation compared to a normal B-1 business visitor visa. Periods of admission are usually the same as for the standard B-1 business visitor visa (i.e. generally 6 months). Usually, the visa is valid for multiple entries over a period of one year.
Typical documentation for a B-1 in lieu of H-1B visa application include copy of bachelors degree for the applicant, rental agreement for the applicant, company accounts, payroll records, curriculum vitae, bank statements, contract with the US business, etc.
- 비즈니스 관련 컨퍼런스 참석을 위해 미국 방문하는 경우
- 미국 내에서 수익을 얻지 않는 범위내로, 계약 체결 등을 위해 미국 방문하는 경우
- B1 in lieu of H1: H1의 요건과 업무내용을 갖추었지만 미국 내에서 임금ㅇ르 받지 않고 단기적으로 미국 내에서 업무를 보기 위해 머무르는 경우
- B1 in lieu of R1: 컨퍼런스 참석 혹은 미국 사회를 위한 비영리단체의 단기적 봉사를 위해 방문하는 경우, 또는 미국내에서 수익이나 임금을 수령하지 않는 범위내에서 단기적으로 전도를 위해 방문하는 경우
- 전문 체육인의 경우 급여를 수령하는 것이 아닌 상금이 있는 경기에 참여하고자 미국에 방문하는 경우
- 그 외 다수의 경우

- 관광 또는 친지 방문
- 의료 관광
- 컨퍼런스 참석
- 미국인과 결혼하기 위해 방문(본국으로 돌아갈 것이라는 것을 전제)
- 주 18시간 미만의 어학연수
- 그 외 다수

The contractual document outlining your said work in the US – both from your employer as well as the US company,
Rental agreement for the applicant,
Company accounts showing agreement between the two organizations,
Payroll records including paystubs to show remuneration from parent company,
Applicant’s curriculum vitae,
bank statements showing previous employment and income from present company,
Applicant’s contract with the parent business,
Additional supporting documentation justifying the need to travel on a B1 visa in lieu of a H1B visa.
